Following a previous, albeit temporary, $50 price cut earlier this month because of questionable sales, the Tablet S now permanently finds itself among other middle range price tablets like the Toshiba Thrive and Asus Transformer. The 16GB now stands at $399 and the 32GB at $499, the previous introductory point for the tablet.

While a TouchPad-esque firesale can’t be expected any time soon (or ever, for that matter), Sony’s new pricing strategy represents a move in the right direction towards affordability.

A new Nokia phone has just been leaked onto the internet as part of a holiday greeting of sorts, sporting an AT&T logo and 4G reception. Although speculation should always be taken with a grain of salt, Paul Thurrott of SuperSite for Windows is claiming that this device is the Nokia Ace – a renamed version of the unreleased Lumina 900 and one of three LTE Windows Phones to hit AT&T next year. The device also looks eerily similar to the currently released Lumia 800, but the addition of a front facing camera and LTE suggest otherwise.

Following Nokia’s soon to debut Lumia 710 smartphone, the Ace will be the second Nokia Windows Phone to arrive stateside and the first phone preloaded with Tango. The device is expected to be announced on March 18.

It’s been quite a while since the N900 came out, but owners of this semi-ancient device can now rejoice. MeeGo 1.2 Developer Edition was announced today at the MeeGo conference in San Francisco. The developer edition was released just for the N900, so it’s not an unofficial port or badly put together release. Meego, much like Android, is an open-source OS for tablets, notebooks, and phones, but hasn’t garnered a lot of attention from the press since its launch. Nokia was supposed to be a major supporter, along with Intel, but things broke loose after Nokia formed an agreement with Microsoft to focus on Windows Phone 7 instead. The group behind the OS is trying to improve the SMS, camera, WiFi, and voice dialing experience – so things should smooth out later on.

If you’re still waiting to get your hands on it, provided you have a N900, click the source link for additional information.
