Wet Circuit’s waterproof power strip feels scary. Looking at it, it makes you feel like that the outlet will blow in some gigantic explosion. But not only is the thing waterproof, it prevents a spark, controls its own temperature, has touch protection, and lasts four times as long as a normal strip (those things expire?). The strip costs a hefty $35 on sale or an outrageous $40 for normal MSRP, has only four outlets, and is short of being USB capable, despite all the safety claims. To prove their self proclaimed point being “the safest power strip”, Wet Circuit ran a series of tests on the device, and uploaded them to YouTube for public consumption. Video after the break.

At The Engadget Show, Aaron Woodman, director of consumer experiences for Microsoft’s mobile division, shocked the world by pulling out a LG prototype phone running Windows Phone 7 Series. You can view all the pictures of the phone here.

There’s not much for specs, but it is a trifle bit thicker than an iPhone or Nexus One, has six hardware buttons, a slide out QWERTY keyboard, and a 5MP camera. He wouldn’t confirm it had any Mac support, but he didn’t toss it to the curb. At least now we have an idea for the future of Windows Mobile hardware.

Update: There’s also a short snippet of it being on the Engadget Show. See below.

Something made Eric Schmidt go excited today on Twitter, encouraging his followers to watch the third quarter Super Bowl ads tomorrow. Why? Either his in love with the Doritos spot, or Google has an ad to air. We'll assume the latter since John Battelle has received word from "a reliable source" that Google will air the Search Stories ad named "Pairsian Love" during the Super Bowl's 3rd quarter ad break. Continue reading →

Something made Eric Schmidt go excited today on Twitter, encouraging his followers to watch the third quarter Super Bowl ads tomorrow. He had this to say in his tweet:

Can’t wait to watch the Superbowl tomorrow. Be sure to watch the ads in the 3rd quarter (someone said “Hell has indeed frozen over.”)

The Nokia N900 is nice, open phone with a open platform. But why should geeks be limited to Maemo? Why not run two open platforms on a hack friendly, open phone? Why don’t we make a dual boot for the Nokia phone? That’s what Brandon has managed to do – run Android 1.6 along with Maemo. It’s more a proof of concept than anything else, but it nevertheless shows that it is possible. Now, let’s focus on bringing Android 2.1 with multi-touch there.

Or why not make Nokia do it?
