Apple owns iSlate.com, iSlate.fr. Mystery continues.

This wouldn’t be headlines if you don’t think about it. Apple doesn’t have a product named “iSlate”. It just doesn’t exist. So why does Apple own it? They’ve owned iSlate.com and iSlate.co.uk since 2006 and iSlate.fr from the previous owners since 2007.  However, according to TechCrunch, iSlate was trademarked by Slate Computing, who happens to provide the same type of stuff the iSlate is supposed to.

Typically you would think of a “slate” as a tablet, or pad. Apple tablet anyone?
