Not worried about fires or other hazards today? This video by Wired makes you think otherwise. It won’t make you amazed, or think this is neat; it will make run sprint to your tree and look after it – espically when it can burn down in under a minute.

Haven’t bought a gift for the holidays? Right now, you practically have two choices: either listen to Mosspuppet or pre-order a Nook and say that the shipping delay spoiled the gift. In any light, Mosspuppet has a gift guide for people that want a new computer, or want to look cool: buy a Mac.
Or you could burn a torrent to a disc and call it a day.

The developers of Opera have announced the Opera 10.5 pre-alpha release today for Windows and Intel based Macs. The browser is crazy fast compared other browser (final and unstable) versions today. In the Javascript test performed by Lifehacker, as seen above, Opera 10.5 puts other browser to shame. Version 10.10 didn’t introduce that many changes for speed and rendering as 10.5 is doing. gHacks also compared SunSpider and V8 benchmark results, of both, Opera 10.5 tied with Chrome and put Firefox 3.6 beta 1 (now outdated) to shame. Ever craved on the sole thought of playing Unreal Tournament or Gears of War on your iPod touch or iPhone? Epic Games has demoed just that – a working demo of what is Unreal Tournament 3 on the iPod touch. In great sadness, it only works with devices support OpenGL ES 2.0+, so only the latest model iPhone and iPod touches (iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 3rd generation) can play it. And to add a cherry on the cream, it will demoed on a completly different platform at CES next year, making 2010 even more of a year to drool about. Luckly the new year will be here about 812284 seconds. Not bad, eh? Video and more pictures after the jump. Read the rest of this entry →
